Quality is not the only feature of this area. Based on the Merlot grapes, the wines of this area are elegant and mellow, and also very easy to fall in love with. The district extends itself around the village that has the same name. This is probably one of France's most beautiful regions with its charming limestone houses that lie on the slope towards the Dordogne valley. Not without reasons is this area a UNESCo world heritage site. The wine district is composed of three areas: the valley that produces the simplest wines; the plateau on the heights behind the village where you can find several elegant and chosen wines and that is close to the Pomerol district; and last but not least the slopes of the hill that lie south of the city. Here you will find the best wines with according prices. I cant imagine that this doesn't appeal any wine enthusiast out there!
